Cover for the re-publication of my 1989 book ‘The Dowser’s Workbook’ (also known as ‘Discover Dowsing’.
I wanted a different image than the done-to-death woodcut from Agricola’s ‘De Re Metallica’; there are only a handful woodcuts knocking on the web, all of them either very poor quality, or badly lifted from Barrett’s 1920s book of which I used to have a copy years ago, and have no intention of paying someone else to charge a bloomin’ fortune to ‘allow’ me to re-use what was mine anyway! The usual trawl through the wonderful Dover archives turned up this sort-of divining-rod: it’s quirky enough to get people thinking different, anyway. I hope!
